Central Banks
The central banks of the world, and the US Federal Reserve are the greatest threat to the US and the world due to their complete control over nearly every major government.
Their power and reach can be seen blatently by researching the history of numerous wars, and depressions.
I believe the current economies of the world could be on the verge of collapse, and restructuring. This will lead to much suffering in areas that were once prosperous, which will likely be a necessary component of producing the change that is greatly needed to eliminate the power of the central banks.
The central banks have maintained control and somewhat of a balance for nearly 100 years.
Every attempt to relinquish this control has ultimately failed, while some have resulted in assassination.

US Debt v. Money
US Debt v. Money
Currently the banks are driven by interest income. Interest is a kind of "virtual money" since it is created from nothing.
Consider a single country that has a "money supply" of 1 trillion dollars. If all of that were distributed among all of the banks to be loaned out, and it were all loaned to people of the country to be paid back with interest.
That 1 trillion dollar loan would now require 1 trillion dollars + interest in order to pay the debt in full.
The "+ interest" is an impossible amount to pay, since the country only has 1 trillion dollars TOTAL in circulation.
This is a simple example, and is compounded greatly by the current systems in place. -See Fractional Reserve Banking
